October sunrise on Cadillac Mountain, Acadia National Park. It’s usually the first spot on the eastern coast of the United States to observe sunrise.
We were surprised at how many people were at the top to observe the sunrise on a chilly weekday morning in October. We found a spot in the parking lot, but had we gotten there even 10 minutes later we would have had to park far away. We arrived about a half hour before sunrise and bundled up together to wait. As the sun peeked over the horizon, there was a soft cheer in the crowd.
A perfect way to start the day!
