Disneyland Resort Trip ’16 Final Thoughts

Our second (and my parents’ first) trip to Disneyland was filled with beautiful weather, holiday festivity and Disney magic.

Over the 3 1/2 days spent in the parks we were able to

-ride every ride we enjoy (with the exception of Tower of Terror) and in most cases ride more than once

-watch World of Color, Fairy Tale Theater and Mickey and the Magical Map

-try two new-to-us table service restaurants (Carnation Cafe and Cafe Orleans)

-enjoy two character meals (Ariel’s Grotto and Minnie’s Breakfast in the Park)

-meet 28 characters, including about 10 new-to-us characters

-watch the Viva Navidad! parade about 4 1/2 times

-experience Anna and Elsa’s Boutique with makeovers for both girls

-take many Photopass pictures (we bought the week pass and it was worth it)

As expected, the crowds were lightest on Wednesday and Thursday then picked up considerably Friday and Saturday (Veteran’s Day, first weekend of holiday season, race weekend). With the exception of the lines to enter the park we never felt the crowds were so unmanageable that they ruined our trip. Careful planning helped.

Disappointments? We pulled Tower of Terror Fastpasses but didn’t make it over to actually ride. This was the only ride on Sport’s list that we missed. Due to timing issues, we didn’t get to meet Mickey. It’s the first trip we didn’t meet him at least once. I wish I’d known how long the entry lines would be on the two busier days. Overall, these issues were minor and didn’t affect our overall fun.

Our trip was so wonderful we decided to go the same weekend this past November, with my brother’s family joining our group.
