Disneyland November 9th

Our first day at Disneyland Resort (DLR) had us starting at Disneyland Park. The park opening was 9 am, so we didn’t need to rush after arriving to the hotel around 11 pm the night before. A nice part about being in California on East Coast time is that it’s easy to wake up early. This is key for getting to the park for rope drop (opening) each day.

Lunch at Carnation Cafe

Overall thoughts: This was a great first day of touring!

By the time we’d gotten to California Adventure, both my parents decided they liked Disneyland much more than Walt Disney World.

We worked out the kinks with the morning shuttle schedule.

The fried pickles and chicken-fried chicken at the Carnation Cafe were really good.

We all felt we had experienced a lot of rides and attractions.

The holiday decorations made it feel very festive and the ‘spontaneous’ parade/show was a serendipity. Although we ended up seeing it several more times before we left, it felt magical that first night.
